sadly i can’t upload my development pieces of me looking into different way i could animate the heart i looked into several effects such as:
bulge - this stretched my image too much and it didn’t look natural
liquify - had a similar effect as bulge
and bender - bender was a much better effect but sadly i couldn’t figure out how to exaggerate the effect more it looked like there was too little change.
in the end i just resized the image to give the idea it was pumping.

some more effects i used in my animation:
glow
light burst
write on/ stroke tool
blur
colour loops
shadowing

final! I’m really happy with my outcome i didn’t...

final!

I’m really happy with my outcome i didn’t think id be able to understand after effects and was worried id fall behind. but I’m really happy i decided to used after effects instead of stop motion i feel iv learnt a lot more by doing this.
my final piece looks into the words : change , beat and intensity
my music inspired me and made me have an outcome of vains and a heart beating at different pulses and beats to the music, looking into specifically how the music effects the change of the animation.
i looked into things that would change a heart rate to change in odd ways like exercise , drugs ect, as the music and the beats changed to quickly i more related it to the idea of drugs effecting the pupils of the eye and the different beats moving some pupils faster than others and also having some pupils at different sizes to also show the beat being louder, faster, slower and quieter.
then my animation zooms into the pupil to show the idea of looking deeper into it, showing the vains glowing like a reactions happening this also changes to how the music develops.
and last you see the heart but mainly i wanted the dots going at different paces in the vains going through the heart to show its effecting the heart and every things going a bit manic and there is a clear view of change.

most of my work in this project is done either purely on photoshop and after effects or photography with the exception of a heart I’m having to draw up in charcoal then edited in photoshop.

the colour is not definite at the moment I’m just playing around with what works.
this is going to be animated with the stroke effect or with write on , I’m going to see what works best for me these give the effect of growth.

i changed my idea while i was experimenting , the more i got to hear my song the more i got into it.
my current words are:
beat, change and intensity
at first i was looking at the idea of being late and thought of a stop motion process to do with an umbrella and briefcase, i wasn’t to confident with this idea,
but as i was experimenting looking at the way i can move dots to a beat i thought of atoms and looking at the way things move with certain beats. which made me think stereotypically of a heart beat which linked to vains.
but my song made me perticulary think of the beats changing so my animation will be mainly based on how the song makes the animation change and move.
currently my story board is looking at an eye , vains and a heart.
the song will maybe change the movement of the heart and pupil the way that maybe exercise or music or drug use my change the body.

here i was just experimenting with after effects and getting used to the program.
after doing this though iv thought of a whole new idea for my projects , i decided i want to look into the different beats in the song as the song has a lot of changes and loops which is quiet interesting i noticed the link between my animation and the song as i was making this animation.
i wanted to make the circle iv animated more like an eye and look into possibly zooming into the eye as the particles are spinning.
this idea seems like it has more structure than my last idea so I’m going to now experiment with this.

iv been looking at soo many different forms of animation before i really start looking into what i want to do, as i haven’t done animation before i think this is important this is my last two research videos i found:

iv been having think of past animations iv really liked and rediscovered them in this project.
iv been looking at a lot of the band called tool which i love them and there videos the singer for tool really likes stop motion apparently and includes it in loads of his videos! there very dark and gripping , i cant stop watching them once i start very bizzare and have a lot of deeper meanings.
